Last assignment in last meeting..

Well.. in the last meeting of listening class we didn't need to come to the class for study, we just need to do some online assignment. That's why we called it "online class".
So, there are some assignment that we have to do:

first, the lecturer asked us to watch the video on youtube here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh196Re7kSc and then she gave us a task based on the video.

second, we also have to watch video from Randal's ESL   http://www.esl-lab.com/bookstore/bookstorerd1.htm and do the exercise.

third, listen to audio from Randal's ESL about college scholarship http://www.esl-lab.com/scholarship/scholarshiprd1.htmand   and also do the exercise. And tell what score that you got from ESL material.

I think that's all that I want to share for now..
see yaa in the final assignment ^^

Offer and Request in English Review

Last meeting in Listening class we discussed about offer and request in English. Now I want to share my understanding about this lesson.

As we know offering is to say that you are willing to do something for somebody. You can make an offer using a phrase like Can I…?, Shall I… ?, Would you like me to… ?

For example:
  • Can I get you a drink?
  • Shall I take the bags for you?
  • Would you like me to pick you up at seven tonight?

Request is to ask for something or ask somebody to do something in a polite or formal way. It's important to be polite when you ask for something. You can make a request by using: can you...?, could you...?,
will you...?, would you mind...?

For example:
  • Can you show me your photo album, please?
  • Could you possibly show me the way to the post office, please?
  • Will you lend me your book, please?
  • Would you help me with this exercise, please?
  • Would you mind lending me your pen, please?
I got the explanation above from our lecturer material and also from other sources.

The material from Anglo-Link

This time we learn about the differences between American English and British English.  We got the material from YOUTUBE channel. This is the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nAnT3PASak&list=PL2RW--lGzUm6I3OUhlAUwXaQetkNpGbOq

New method in listening class

In listening class we got new method of learning English, especially in listening itself. We use media electronic for this time. We have to visit this site http://www.esl-lab.com/ and do the exercise from that as much as we can. I have tried to answer several exercises and I love this new learning method.

In my opinion this site is really help me a lot to improve my listening skill. From this site I also learned a lot about the pronunciation. I hope my pronunciation in English can be better.

My first post

Actually this is not for the first time I create a blog. I created my first blog when I was a senior high school student. But it was not active anymore, because I didn’t have any idea what should I post. But for this one, I dedicate this blog for my listening class. Because last week the lecturer asked us to create a blog and every week she will give us a one topic to discuss about and posting it in our own blog. It sounds great to me. But when I create this blog I found a difficulty how to make an interesting blog, and make people interest to read my blog. I hope this blog can be useful for me and everyone. And also through this blog I hope I can develope my skill in writing too.
Last I just want to say that I’m so excited about this project, and I am so glad that I have this blog.
Yup this is my first post and can’t wait to see what is next :D
I hope I can do my best. Let's start it..
